Sweet beautiful nostalgia
I always loved those “chrome” styled versions of the robot masters, XD so fun! Would’ve been neat is magazine drawings were included in the Complete Works books, but I guess they aren’t really owned by Capcom. Ah well.
Every now and then I’ve considered trying to compile all the Nintendo Power renditions of the Mega Man characters. A friend of mine owns I beleive every issue of the mag, and the “Fun cLub” mags that predated it. Then I get distracted and forget.
I really liked how NP did a lot of its own art for various games. Sure, the quality was all over the map, but some of it was glorious. I think a good chunk of what sold me on the original Final Fantasy was the preview artwork, done by I believe the same artist who did the original “Howard and Nester” strips.
Hey, remember when Quint was red? Yeah…
I’ve long wanted to compile the NP Mega Man art, myself, to kind of preserve it online. Hmm…
On another note, I don’t really get “Mega Man II! Not 2, the Game Boy one!” Yeah, I know how people tend to use it, but it’s hardly official. Take one look at the title screen of the NES game, and what do you see? Yeah.
Anyway, this art was far better than the Mega Man 4 stuff I posted last night. —LBD
